Exciting new Arrival EV at Fleet Live

Back

Fleet operators with low emission intentions can inspect one of the most exciting and innovative electric commercial vehicles on the market at Fleet Live.

The event, at the NEC Birmingham, will host a 7.5-tonne Arrival van, destined for use with the Royal Mail. The postal service is the first fleet operator to trial Arrival’s heavy payload EVs, and has installed charging stations at its Mount Pleasant depot to recharge three 3.5-tonne, three 6-tonne and three 7.5-tonne models.

Engineers at Arrival have designed all the core components of the battery-powered vehicle in-house, including its motors, power electronics, battery systems and software.

The vehicle at Fleet Live will appear without the back cab, exposing its platform and revealing its potential for a wide range of fleet conversions.

At the announcement of the trial with Royal Mail, Denis Sverdlov, chief executive officer of Arrival, said, “Cities like London will benefit hugely from a switch to electric, in terms of both pollution and noise. Most importantly we are priced the same as diesel trucks removing the main barrier to go electric.”

Fleet Live is the UK’s premier exhibition and conference for the fleet management community, and takes place on 9 and 10 October.
