Mercedes-Benz eVito at Fleet Live 2019 Mercedes-Benz Vans will be showing off its fully-electric eVito mid-sized van at Fleet Live this year.Delegates will be able to get up close to the electric van on Mercedes’ stand at the show tolearn more about the range and capabilities for those commercial vehicle fleets looking totransition to EVs. Fleet Live is the UK’s leading event for the fleet management community and gives decision-makers the chance to face future challenges and opportunities together with two days of learning, sharing and networking at the NEC in Birmingham on October 8-9. The eVito comes with an electric motor which offers 85 (70) kW of power, 300 Nm of torque through asingle-speed automatic transmission.

The vehicle’s battery is securely mounted in a protective housing beneath the cargo floor, soit doesn’t compromise the load area. The eVito can be fully recharged in six hours and has a range of approximately 92 miles–this is supplemented by recuperative energy technology, but will be reduced by constantdriving with a full load.Andy Eccles, Mercedes-Benz Vans UK head of fleet, said: “As a vehicle manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has always been at the forefront of innovation and market leading technology. “The coming years will be no exception as we look to introduce our range of electric vehiclesinto the van market and work with our customers to develop a cost-effective, electric package". Eccles said that vehicleproduction is one element, but Mercedes-Benz is working on the whole EV solution to make sure it’s acting as a partner to customers throughout theownership cycle. He added: “Customers are at the heart of everything we do so there’s nothing more important than getting together with them as regularly as possible and understanding their needs and demands." Fleet Live is an important event for us, specifically with the launch of eVito and we’re very much looking forward to engaging with as many people as possible. ”Courier specialist DPD was the first company earlier this year to take on a fleet of 10 long-bodied versions of the eVito and will be running them as part of its fleet in central London.

Mercedes-Benz Vans expects to supply some 350 eVito models to major fleet customers this year. The first examples will be delivered to small-and medium-sized customers (SMEs) viaRetailers early in 2020.
